At Halcyon Biolabs, we make sure a cell therapy still works on the day it reaches the patient.
The laboratory in Lucens measures the potency, viability and identity of cell therapy products under Good Laboratory Practice. It also keeps the samples of its partners in monitored cold storage and records every handover.

Samples are received, stored and released under a full chain of custody, in freezers at -80 °C and in vapour-phase nitrogen at about -150 °C.

The laboratory works with clinical partners and biobanks in eleven countries and agrees the scope of each study with them in writing before samples arrive.
Contact the laboratoryWe built our laboratory into the hill, so the samples rest where the temperature barely moves.
Halcyon Biolabs opened its building in Lucens in 2019. The assay floors lie above ground and look over the Broye valley. Flow cytometers, biosafety cabinets and the data workstations are located there.
The storage levels lie under the hill. Level B1 holds the freezers at -80 °C and the goods entrance. Level B2 holds the vapour-phase nitrogen store, which opened in September 2026. Twenty-two people work at the site.
